I've been a student and a teacher for ACTAM, and the experience has been great! Such a tight knit and supporting community, I've grown and flourished with this place.

I booked a quartet with ACTAM in early Dec 2022, it was confirmed with Charlotte via email. I had follow up questions, and sent three subsequent emails and left at least one phone message between mid Dec 2022 and late January 2023. I received no responses to any of these emails. I visited the premises three times at lunchtime in January only to find it closed. There is no information on the ACTAM website to indicate any shut down periods, so I was very concerned. I then delegated the task (while I was overseas) of communicating with ACTAM to a reliable friend who subsequently had very similar difficulties in getting responses to any communications with Charlotte. Finally, out of frustration he visited ACTAM (having to drive for an hour during work time) and got to speak with Charlotte. I then finally (in Feb 2023) received an email from Charlotte addressing the questions I had communicated in December 2022. Then, on 6th March, Charlotte emailed me and cancelled the booking - 3 weeks out from the wedding! Charlotte then complained that my friend had interrupted her class when he had visited ACTAM. My advice to anyone thinking of using ACTAM, look elsewhere if you want a business that is reliable and communicates in a timely fashion and doesn't blame you for their shortcomings.

I concur with the other review about ACTAM's lack of communication. Music instruction is ok but a few families spoken with thought it was too theoretical.
