I've known Sensei Bernie Haughey for many years—he first taught me in high school, and later I trained under him for 3 years learning Karate through AGKK. Bernie is an exceptional instructor: knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely invested in helping his students grow not just as martial artists but as people. The teaching style he employs builds real confidence, with a focus on respect, and practical self-defense skills. His ability to engage with young children on their emotional level, and guide them with a firm but fair approach is nothing short of impressive. My little one started with a couple of private lessons with Bernie and we saw her confidence grow immediately. Bernie was able to hold her attention even when she got distracted. He is firm but fair and our daughter is loving the classes and is asking to go back every day. Highly recommend Bernie!

Great place to learn Karate. Extra focus is given on discipline, techniques and personality development. Sensei Bernie has over 40 years of experience and handle kids exceptionally. I have a 4 year old and a 5 year going to his class. The 5 year old is excited to go to each class and the 4 year old is learning to take instructions and starting gain focus. I will highly recommend the class to ages.
