Lu has a great way of teaching, working through different techniques each week. She allows the children to draw what they want, while teaching and improving their skills, or suggests ideas for those who aren't so sure. I have noticed she is very observant to each child's interests and caters to them. The studio is a lovely place, large windows, comfy seats and very calm.

A brilliant place to learn and Lu is a extremely gifted artist and teacher. Great for all ages. Students from 8 years to whatever age you want to try something different. Learn all styles from Sketching to Oil painting and everything in between, all skill levels are in the classes so even a complete novice like me felt comfortable. Teaching can be structured or at your own pace which just suited me as I wanted to try everything. Would recommend highly.

I have been one of Lu's students for four years and would recommend her classes without hesitation. Lu's classes cater for all levels of experience and style. As an beginner, Lu guides you through a set of technical exercises with accompanying notes and instruction, but also encourages you to develop your own style and instinct through practice and patience. Classes are run at students' own pace, with each student working on their own project over the course of the term. Lu has a wide-ranging knowledge of art techniques, materials and styles. She gets to know her students and their strengths, and helps them to develop their confidence and artistic intuition. Lu's classes are informal and welcoming, in a spacious and well-equipped studio, set in peaceful surroundings. Having not picked up a pencil or paintbrush since my school days, l have, with Lu's help, been able to develop my skills enough to feel confident in submitting my work to local art shows, and have even won a couple of prizes!
