Our family has been training at this dojo for many years now and we love it. Unlike many other karate styles, Seido focuses on inclusivity, celebrates diversity, and promotes "spirit before technique, technique before strength". Kyoshi Darek & Senpai Sher-lene embody this approach - they are great leaders and work hard to make everyone feel included and part of the karate family with many regular special events in addition to regular training for all different age groups.

I started training at Bayside Seido Karate because I was looking for a fun way to keep fit and learn some self-defence at the same time. The leaders Kyoshi Darek & Senpai Sher-lene are the most wonderful, kind, respectful people you will even meet and they work very hard to make everyone feel included to the point where the dojo and the people in it become like your second family. There is a big focus always doing your best, respect for yourself and others, strength physically and mentally. As well as regular training they run events during the year including movie nights, games nights, camp, tournaments, dinners etc. Highly recommend anyone of any age to give it a try.

Kyoshi Darek and the team at Bayside Seido Karate have been a truly wonderful influence on our son's life, teaching him focus, strength, respect and to always try his best - all in a fun and safe environment. We feel lucky to have stumbled upon Bayside Seido Karate and can't recommend them highly enough.

I joined after several years of having a break from martial arts. My kids tried first and so I thought I'd give it a go. I'm still here after 15 years. A good thing is that it is part of a worldwide organisation which means that you will probably find a school in another country. You can train to your own limits and it's a great way to keep fit and learn some self-defence skills. And it's great for kids' development. Nigel :)
