Reviews
We’ve been taking swimming lessons through BlueFit at Belmont Oasis for five years, and it’s been fantastic. Both of our kids started here as infants and have thrived. The coaches are kind, knowledgeable, and always encourage the children to do their absolute best. Highly recommend for any family!
We have been coming here for about a year now. Michelle the manager has been absolutely amazing to deal with. She always managed to get my very non cooperative child into the pool. She always tries to find class that will fit into our schedule. The teachers Cat, Tara, Kylie and Michelle herself are amazing into teaching the kids. You are not just a number in this swim school.
Instructors are friendly, welcoming and attentive. Some are very good at what they do and will adjust their teaching to meet the kids' needs and help them attain new skills. The big pool could do with some heating though.
Great teachers but the management is difficult to deal with. The "ongoing" lessons / make up lessons system is a scam, as it's difficult to book make up lesson for busy families, and you have to use it up BEFORE every level up or change classes, otherwise it's all forfeited, what a scam! The assessment process is very inconsistent too, depending on which assessors you get, some didn't even bother to go through the process - we had sometimes had assessment every two weeks, and sometimes no assessment for 4 months! No feedback no nothing, just constant relief teachers who didn't know any kids in the class.... Otherwise good I guess.
There is a whole backstory with this centre and their customer service but I will just speak on my experience today. Daughter had her first lesson today, not impressed and disappointed. I'd give a negative star rating if I could, unfortunately 1 is the lowest I can give to submit a post. Firstly, the teacher wasn't even friendly. Could a smile kill you? I've never seen a teacher FOR KIDS so unenthusiastic about teaching. If you don't like your job then don't do it. I explained to the teacher it was her first lesson but she has had private lessons before. There was no assessment on seeing what level my daughter was at. Who does that? How are you supposed to know what to teach and what to work on. I had to interrupt the lesson to explain to the teacher she's only done certain styles before. And the method of teaching is just "copy what I do" there was no feedback on what my daughter was doing wrong or what she needs to correct herself with. Just "no, watch me"..."no, watch this again" I had to use every ounce of energy to keep my mouth shut because I didn't want to keep interrupting the lesson. I can see there are a couple of good reviews on here, I don't think I'm asking to much for a friendly teacher that knows how to teach children. Safe your time and money. Go somewhere else.
