When I arrived in Sydney, I was searching for a welcoming academy with a knowledgeable coach to teach my son martial arts. Bondi Jiu Jitsu Academy was conveniently near our home, so I decided to give it a try. The first couple of weeks felt a bit slow—he attended twice a week—but something clicked, and soon he was going every day. Joining the training sessions became (and remains) the highlight of his day. Ben is incredibly knowledgeable, with a very high attention to details, and his sessions are challenging yet incredibly fun. My son finishes every training with a huge smile, eagerly counting down to the next one. No one in the group, regardless of skill level, is left behind—Ben ensures everyone progresses and improves daily. Watching my son master the art, connect with other kids, build confidence, and rush to training every day inspired me to join the adult group too. Unsurprisingly, the adult group dynamics were similar: challenging, yet fun and mentally and physically stimulating. Just like in the kids' sessions, despite varying skill levels, everyone progresses and consistently gets better. I can't recommend this place highly enough—not just for kids and teens, but for adults as well.

I was looking for a place to train during my stop over in Bondi and I came across Bondi Jiu Jitsu Academy on Google. Ben was friendly, welcoming and extremely responsive over email. The guys at the gym were equally friendly and welcoming - I had some great rolls before continuing my journey. My 8 year old started here about 2 months ago and he is loving it and progressing really well. Ben is so patient and gives all the kids the attention they need, no matter their level. He also seems to command utmost respect from them. I love how some of his students poke their heads around the door now and again just to say "hi ben". Lovely, welcoming studio with a much-loved and clearly gifted teacher. Highly recommended.

Having previously trained in the UK, I moved to Sydney and found Bondi Jiu Jitsu Academy. I can’t speak more highly of the place. Ben is unbelievably knowledgable but more importantly puts time into everyone who trains there now matter of their levels or their goals. The team is a great group who all look to help each other out, If you’re looking to join BJJ gym in Bondi this has to be the place !
