Swimming classes are good but hard there are different types if sessions
this club is great but I can't swim
Brisbane Grammar School Swimming Club is a good club for competing, learning and swimming and the staff there are kind and friendly. I highly recommend joining this club.
As a swimmer who has been swimming here for 3+ years, the boredom has eventually made me quit swimming here. Keep in mind, I am comparing this place to GPS training or places that have much more teamwork and spirit components. There was one time that the sets here got so repetitive that they eventually made me forget where I was in the pool, and I felt very disoriented. It felt like I was just on autopilot the entire session. I'm not denying that this place could make good swimmers, however, there is almost no fun in coming to club training. Several other people can relate to my experience of not liking the boring sets that are given which led them to quit as well. Pros: Supportive coaches Indoors - don't need to worry about UV damage Cons: Boring sets Almost no time to communicate with people/friends Broken/sometimes dirty change rooms Extremely long and uneventful sessions (2hrs) Very repetitive sets
The push for excellence needs to be tempered with empathy and compassion.
