Really nice pools - indoor and outdoor. Problem was inside pool was too warm - and outside pool was too cold! 😂 I needed a 3rd pool in between the 2 temperatures! great place - friendly staff and great atmosphere. 5 stars all the way.
where do i start? this place is amazing, it was my first time and the place was gorgeous. i went with my bsf and we had so much fun for pools i rate it 5 stars. they were so clean and the perfect temperature for a hot day and a cold day. the slide is so fun, im 5’8 and i could still go down it, the water guns we’re fun too, me and my bsf kept shooting each other. now for cleanness not so good. there was random clothes outside and inside, some wrist bands and stains etc. i’d rate cleanness a 3.5 stars. over all 5 stars
Unfortnately the lanes are now all single again as they have been for many weeks. Wake up management....having double lanes is a better swimming experience and actually allows more people to share. Also the changerooms need a regular clean. Great tbat the lanes are now split into double size. This is a much better swimming lap experience, as you can pass people easily and actually have more people share the lanes. Good on management for trying something different. This works well. I hope you do this with all the lanes all the time.
It's below average I'd say. I mostly use the gym and occasionally the pool. Not sure I'll keep the membership long term. Firstly, this place is not a good option if gym is your priority. It is quite small with limited equipment, and during busy times the wait for certain equipment is long. They have all these cardio machines that not many people use. It would be better if they got rid of some of these unused machines and replaced it with more gym equipment. The change rooms often get manky. Something that happens everywhere I guess, but the hygiene of some of the toilets are a test of endurance during busy occasions. Third issue is with the lockers in the change rooms. The amount that have faulty locks and don't work is ridiculous. The matter has been brought to their attention before, but it seems to me they don't give a .... and no I'm not wasting my time sending an email to some generic address only for it to be ignored with no reply when you already know it's an issue. Instead I'll let the public here know that it's a problem.
Come here nearly daily, and honestly it’s gotten pretty grim lately. The outdoor pool is now closed for six months for renovations, which fair enough, these things happen. But the management of the indoor facilities while that’s happening has been appalling. They’ve closed half the swimming space without reducing fees at all, and at nearly $20 a week you’d expect basic upkeep and cleanliness. Instead the place feels like it’s actively falling apart. The men’s changing rooms are consistently filthy in the evenings. Mud, dirt, and scum all over the floor. I joke that you can’t come to Brunswick Baths without getting athlete’s foot, but at this point it barely feels like a joke. I’ve had to start wearing sandals constantly just to avoid it. The frustrating part is that it genuinely feels fixable. Someone running a mop through once an hour would massively improve things, but it just doesn’t seem to happen. The spa is rough too. The perimeter grime gets so thick you can literally write in it. I did the other day, which prompted my friend to immediately say we should leave the spa entirely. That kind of buildup doesn’t happen overnight. The whole place feels disorganised. Recently I asked a lifeguard where I could actually swim laps with the outdoor pool closed, and he vaguely pointed me toward an area with giant signs saying “swimming lessons in progress.” I asked if lessons were happening and he said “nah, they just haven’t taken the signs down.” Then shrugged when I pointed out there was only one pool left to use. That interaction kind of summed up the entire vibe of the place at the moment. There’s always something broken. Recently there was a light flickering on and off for what felt like two months straight. Locker room doors still hanging off hinges. No spin dryers. Weak showers. Everything just feels neglected. And somehow, despite all this, the weird sauna and steam room culture is still thriving. Blokes standing in the doorway glaring out at people in the spa, pacing around, blocking entrances, grunting, wiping condensation off the glass to stare outside. Deeply uncomfortable behaviour that staff seem to completely ignore. It’s genuinely disappointing because Brunswick Baths should be one of Brunswick’s best public services. I know everyone needs to be patient while the outdoor pool is being renovated, but there needs to be far better management of the facilities that are still open. Really hoping the new provider improves things, because right now the place is a mess
