Dance Edge School of Performing Arts Tuggeranong & Gungahlin

I stumbled across Dance Edge when my then 5 year old decided her ballet skills weren't up to the standard of her school mates. With no experience being a dance mum, I choose the closest one I could find. 8 years later we are still there with 2 children choosing 2 different dance paths (competitive and casual) and even an adult having a go at learning a new trick. Dance Edge offers something for each of these journeys equally and I am thankful for this safe place for my kids to grow in their own unique ways.

We have been part of the Dance Edge family for almost 7 years. During this time our daughters have grown in confidence and built beautiful relationships with teachers, mentors and other students. The studio is an inclusive, safe and supportive environment and our daughters always leave class with smiles on their faces. Thank you Dance Edge Team for creating such a wonderful space, couldn’t recommend it more.

Dance Edge is not just a Performing Arts space (dance, musical theatre and drama), it is a community in the fullest sense. They have created a safe, inclusive and robust space for performers young and not so young to participate, thrive and enjoy performance on all levels - beginners to elite level. Their teachers are qualified, passionate and committed to seeing and developing each performer to reach whatever goals and dreams they have. My child has been with this studio for 11 years and I can genuinely say I cannot rate them highly enough. So here’s a 6th star, because 5 is not enough! 🌟

I love the support and guidance Dance Edge gives to its students. My daughter has thrived under the teachers here and loves that she gets to try out new classes and do an end of year performance with reduced stress for the little ones. I also love the adult hip hop classes which just feel like a bunch of friends hanging out, being silly and learning so pretty cool moves!

In a world where too many dance schools prioritise performance over child welfare, this one stands out. Safety-conscious, age-appropriate in every sense, and genuinely inclusive. The teachers clearly know what they're doing and care deeply about the children in their care — not just as dancers, but as kids. And the proof is in the results — they compete successfully and have the awards to show for it. Doing it right and doing it well aren't mutually exclusive here. Couldn't recommend it more highly.
