The longest running most experienced all genres dance school in Darwin. Marnie knows her stuff. Also has different dance hosts mentor student throughout the year. These host regularly cost darwin and bring fresh vibes to inspire . Make sure that if you are picking a dance school not to miss out on taking your child here. Has correct dance floor ( be aware of this). It is very important. And for later years on limb joints and spinal issues .

My daughter has danced here since she was little. Dance is such a great combination of art, sport and music so good for the student. I love the way Marnie and her fantastic teachers balance teaching discipline with fun. With performing as their reward for hard work. The first thing she asks when they come off stage is did you have fun? Shows me the priorities are right.

In our third year with DPA, excellent instructors, great family vibe. Very welcoming to new dancers. It’s the best dance studio in Darwin, run by the fantastic Miss Marnie.

My child had been dancing for a few years down south and we attended this school for over a year since moving up. The owner and staff (that consist of mums of kids that dance at school) are friendly and always happy to help out with inquires. The facilities consist of one small waiting room that leads into a large dance room. Compared to the others I have been, I found this waiting room very cramped especially during changeover of classes. You get limited seats so it’s first in, best dress. Especially during the hot weather, you sometimes have no choice of squashing yourself inside that room. I ended up waiting in my car with or getting coffee down the road. Unfortunately, you don’t get to see how your child is doing and they don’t allow parents to see them dance. I now it caused distraction among the children when parents watch but a suggestion from our last dance school is a CCTV feed to a screen in the waiting room would be a solution. At the end of year dance concert the whole show was wonderful showcasing all the dance genres. It was entertaining and great to see the kids enjoy themselves. The only downside was that no participation award was given to all the children apart from the standout awards for certain kids. In my experience from previous dance schools, every child had least a certificate, a medal or trophy for all their efforts in the year. I’m aware that my child is no dance prodigy (yet) but I believe each child should be rewarded in some shape or form for their efforts. I’m also aware a lot of work goes in to the dance classes and concerts but it’s these little things that I have mentioned can go along way for the parents and kids.
