First off, I'd recommend people look at the 99.9% of reviews and from that you can make your own conclusion!! I have been fortunate enough to attend Dean's Academy for over 12 months, I suffer from severe anxiety and am fortunate enough to attend personal lessons, I am also a NDIS Support Worker and have been able to introduce two of my clients to Krav Maga and Deans tuition. Together with my clients we have been able to improve our confidence, fitness and wellbeing through attending our lessons. Dean has consistently worked with us to support and accommodate our mental illness and structure our learning to allow us to learn and grow as individuals and Martial Artists!! The growth I personally have experienced and the improvement in my clients lives is immeasurable and I really cannot praise Dean enough for what he has helped us achieve. I would say to anyone that wants to build confidence, fitness and safety to approach Dean and discuss your goals and how to achieve them!! Please allow yourself to explore the possibilities and not just imagine what your life could be like but take control and love your best life!!!

I have been seeing Dean for 1 on 1 sessions and really recommend it to anyone considering. I have other commitments and cannot make it to the group classes, so the private sessions are great for it. Dean is friendly, calm and clear in his instruction. As someone new to self defence/martial arts, Dean makes you feel welcome and capable to achieve your desired outcome. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Dean to friends and family. I am excited to continue my training with Dean.

Defensive Kombat / Krav Maga - Tactical Mix Martial Arts is a great. Instructor Dean is so well informed and inspiring. Firstly, it’s beginner friendly. I’m a beginner and I appreciate the friendliness of my fellow trainees and everyone leaves their egos at the door. Secondly, the training that’s being taught is next level serious stuff. My impression of this type of martial art is that it’s dirty and brutal, which is understandable when dealing with a life or death situation (knives and guns). Because of this the techniques being taught seem like they cannot be used in a competitive setting like a ring or octagon, the training is perfect for escaping street fights or for military and security personnel. I have been training at Defensive Kombat Krav Maga for about 15 months now. Instructor Dean is a wealth of knowledge and very passionate about his martial arts. With a long history in multiple disciplines, he is able to instruct with confidence. The attitude is always up beat and participation by students is great.
