Des Renford is a wonderful place to train - gym or swim. I have been a member for nearly a year and have always had a positive experience with staff and the facilities. Parking is excellent. Parking realestate for a gym in Sydney CBD and surrounding suburbs is almost unheard of - so I am grateful for the huge carpark and street parking!! Staff are always polite and helpful, and I see them doing a gym cleaning walk almost every time I am there. HEAPS of classes - a truly fantastic timetable to choose from to suit everyone’s needs!! As a member, I unexpectedly received an email after a month that I earned a free bag, and at 6 months that I can collect 2x free movie tickets from reception. What a lovely surprise and wonderful way to encourage retention of members! Like any gym or pool, it gets busy at peak hours. If you expect the gym to be empty for you at 6am or 6pm - you are a crazy person. Whilst not being 24hours, the morning and evening times are still early and late enough to accomodate most. I am grateful to the staff for such early and late hours! Thank you! (Also the sunrise and sunsets are BEAUTIFUL in this gym!) Some of the equipment could use an aesthetic upgrade, but it is all functional so it doesn’t bother me. Plenty of pool space - they have a large outdoor pool plus indoor pools and a splash pool and playground for kids. Truly a parent’s dream location for a budget friendly summer activity. The lanes are sometimes booked by others but this information is available in advance online. For what ya get, it’s a fantastic price. If you were in the CBD or Bondi you’d be paying double for this type of service and facility. I truly think this is a bargain and hidden gem. Absolutely recommend! I rang up in the morning inquiring about a gym membership and Giselle was amazing. She was so helpful, friendly, and took the time to answer all of my questions properly. I then came into the gym around lunch time to get a 3 day free membership so I could trial the gym before signing up, and I was helped by Imogen. She was absolutely lovely and made the whole process so easy and welcoming. Overall, my interactions with both girls were amazing and they both provided such great customer service🫶🏼

This may not be the fanciest gym I’ve been to, but it’s definitely the cleanest and best maintained. Every time I come in, I see staff cleaning equipment and restocking disinfectant and paper towels. Near closing time, they even wipe down every machine. A few weeks ago, while I was working out, I noticed a staff member regularly checking whether disinfectant and paper towels were sufficiently stocked and refilling them immediately. She also cleaned and organized the equipment as soon as members finished using it. I thanked her and learned her name is Michelle (hope I got that right). During my time at the gym, she was hardly ever sitting at her station. She stayed on the floor the entire time, watching attentively so she could step in and help members whenever needed. If you happen to see this Michelle, I would like to express my thanks once again. You and your team should be truly proud of yourselves. It is your work that provides members with a clean, fresh, and enjoyable workout environment. Thank you all

Des Renford Leisure Centre is a fantastic place for families! There are multiple pools to choose from, including heated ones in winter, which makes it perfect all year round. The kids absolutely love the splash park and always have a great time. We come here regularly in summer. It’s clean and well-maintained.

Randwick City Council needs to clean up their act. Swimming pools - Outdoor and the 25mtr close by are usually fairly clean. - Avoid the indoor pool/rehab pool/kids pool as it is filthy. Gym - some of the equipment needs some serious maintenance. Change rooms/toilets - serious maintenance required, these facilities are literally falling apart. - cleaning should be conducted regularly. This is a serious sanitation issue. They certainly do not comply with WHS Standards. Unlikely to return...
