Eltham Martial Arts Academy - Musubi Dojo

The Musubi Dojo is an awesome place to take your kids to learn karate. Kylie is a fantastic instructor that meets the kids where they are at and makes everyone feel welcome. They learn the physical skills and the discipline of martial arts while still having fun. Her women's fitness classes are excellent and very welcoming especially if you are like me and are worried you are not going to keep up with the group. She designs the classes so it works for what you personally can achieve. They are great way to get back into exercising in a safe space. Willem's functional fitness classes are really fun and will give you a great challenge no matter where you are on your fitness journey and his Saturday class coincides with the kids' karate class so you can get in some exercise during their class. They have membership options for everyone (from single classes, to multi pack class passes, to weekly subscriptions) which makes it easy to pick one that suits you. If you want a place that will grow your kids' confidence and is super welcoming then please give it a try.

My 7 and 9 year old attend Functional Fitness and Jui-Jitsu. Both classes are amazing. Staff are so friendly with the kids and engage them for the entire lesson. The kids learn some hard but valuable lessons in Functional Fitness where Coach Willem sets up various activities and challenges. Coach Chris has the kids constantly focused in Jui Jitsu and manages to demonstrate to a group then also individually coach each kid throughout the lesson. They both personalise their teaching and engagement and I love it all. The atmosphere of the place is wonderful with kids of all ages attending. The teens I see there exude purpose and community. Highly recommend!

All three of my kids have attended different classes here - from Karate to Bear Cubs and Jiu-Jitsu. They love going (and they don't always love after school activities) getting stronger and developing their skills. The teachers here are incredibly supportive and encouraging. Kiley and Willem have created an incredible community here. Highly recommend!

Eltham Martial Arts Academy is an outstanding place for kids to learn Karate. Kiley is energetic, patient, and truly fantastic with children. She keeps every class engaging, focused, and fun — a balance that’s not easy to achieve. My kids look forward to every session.
