The styles of dancing, and the teachers are good. But I cannot say the other dancers were friendly or chatty. It seems to be a cultural and social thing with perceptions about heterosexual men. One example: I asked one young woman in my class, if she was having problems with her feet or shoes? Because I noticed she kept touching and adjusting them. Her very short response seemed condescending, and seconds later upon being asked much the same question by one of the other (female) dancers, she replied to her about it, with more words and detail. The music was too loud during the tap dance class. A risk of permanent hearing loss.
