First time ever trying Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and choosing the right gym mattered, especially with a 5-year-old keen to give it a go. Fusion BJJ Hobart stood out straight away. Fabio and Neil are incredibly welcoming and outstanding teachers — not just in how they coach, but in how they treat everyone on and off the mats. The culture here is friendly, respectful, and family-focused. Can’t speak highly enough of this gym or the people in it. Highly recommend to anyone, especially families looking to get started. 🥋

Amazing gym with great classes and a really welcoming culture. I hadn’t tried BJJ before and hadn’t exercised in a long time, so walking in felt a bit intimidating at first — but the coaches, Fabio and Neil, were incredibly supportive and made me feel comfortable straight away. They were patient, encouraging, and created a positive environment that made the experience genuinely enjoyable.

After a long hiatus from jiu jitsu my daughter and I started at Fusion. It has been such an amazing experience for both of us. The quality of coaching, the welcoming friendly culture, the wonderful crew all have made this such a beautiful academy to be part of. I am a brown belt and my daughter a new white belt and we both feel like we learn something every class. Fabio and Neil are incredibly knowledgeable and just as importantly great teachers. The classes are great fun, taught with care and humour and the instructors find time to give personal attention to everyone in the class. I can’t recommend Fusion BJJ Academy highly enough.

I’d never tried Jiu-Jitsu before, so walking into my first class was definitely a bit intimidating, but Fabio and Neil made the experience incredibly welcoming from day one. They’re both excellent coaches who explain things clearly, break down techniques so beginners can understand, and create an environment where you feel supported, not judged. There’s a great mix of people at the gym too, and everyone’s been super encouraging and down to earth. The sessions are challenging in the best way and I’ve already noticed improvements. If you’re thinking about trying BJJ for the first time, I couldn’t recommend this place more.

The way Fabio and Neil deliver the classes is next level. They put all the training into context on the how, the why and the flow of Jiu-jitsu. A very welcoming club with no ego's. Both Professor's share an immense love of the sport and the people involved and will help you further your game. If you are new and interested in seeing what BJJ is about or an old player wanting to give it another go. Highly recommend giving Fusion a look.
