My 6-year-old son and I attend the dojo in Mornington, and we absolutely love it—we even try to go four times a week! The senseis are incredibly approachable, supportive, and fantastic with children. The environment has such a warm, family-like atmosphere. I truly couldn’t recommend it more highly!

went here and loved the way that they trained me to be a japanese shit tzu warrior. as a 5 year black belt I felt it was time to leave a review. I got into a street fight with it being a 1v5, (i got jumped) after remembering Sensei Wang wise words. I STOOD UP AND KARATE CHOP FOLDED THEM ALL, I BEAT ALL OF THEM UP SO BAD I WON AND CLAIMED THEIR MONEY. (this was a dream)

I always look forward to going. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly. The sensei’s are great. I love that there are so many classes at different locations to choose from. The cost is reasonable. Seriously, I could go on and on! I highly recommend GKR Karate.

⭐️ Very Disappointed My son used to attend classes at GKR Claremont, where a volunteer instructor (sensei) behaved very rudely and unprofessionally. She called my son “learning disabled” in front of others and even told me, “We don’t get paid and don’t have time for all this.” I later found out other parents had similar concerns. When I raised the issue with senior management, the response was dismissive and unhelpful. We decided to leave GKR, and now they are demanding an exit fee, which feels unfair and harassing. It’s clear this has become more of a business than a true martial arts school. I would not recommend GKR to anyone.
