Comfortable recliners, clean cinema, sound levels good and not too loud. The way the seating rows are labelled is very confusing though with the label on the floor relating to the row behind rather than the seats the label is next to.

I was recently in a showing of Obsession that is rated MA and was attended by children unaccompanied, is the cinema deciding to not be accountable about who is viewing what in their screenings? I also attended a screening of Backrooms which is rated M and so the cinema was full of children who decided to turn the screening into a zoo. I understand the cinema can't police the poor behaviour of children but the whole watching experience was ruined by incessant chatter, kids playing with the chair mechanisms and screaming out. Maybe hiring some security would alleviate this?

We arrived at the cinemas at an extremely quiet time. There were three staff available and a group of three in front of us trying to pay for a “family” ticket separately. We waited 7 minutes to buy water before giving up and going into the cinema. I even asked whether one of the other staff could assist us just to buy water to be told “no sorry you’ll just have to wait” as he continued twiddling his fingers. Unbelievably poor customer service……

I've given 1 star because I accidentally fell asleep during the movie. When I woke up, they had called security on me & said they were also gonna call an ambulance because they reckon they couldn't wake me up. I repeatedly told them I'm fine & apologised for falling asleep, but their attitude towards me was horrible. I even got escorted out of the movies & off level 7 completely by the security guard like I had done something really wrong & all I did was accidentally fall asleep. Which probably wouldn't have happened if they bothered to put the air-conditioning on, it gets really hot & stuffy in there. The ticket & snack prices are insanely overpriced, the seats are comfortable except for that D-box seating because the recliner slowly goes back into an upright position as the chair vibrates & bounces around. The day beds are comfortable too, but they're way too close too the screen. The lift doesn't always work to the 7th floor & the bathrooms are always feral, there's a strong smell of urine near the claw machine games which took my money & didn't work last time I tried it. The Hoyts loyalty program is also a major rip off.

Literally the worst Hoyts ‘LUX’ experience. On arrival we were greeted with a shout from the bar, the staff member called out ‘you alright?’. I showed him our tickets and he told us to go into the movie. Completely dismissive of assisting us. We checked which cinema number on the ticket and entered a pitch black theatre. No one helped us to our seats, we had to get our phone lights out to find them. We weren’t offered any menu or opportunity to order anything for our movie. Our seats were dirty with old popcorn from the previous person. Unsure if they cleaned the cinema between movies? We pressed the ‘service button’ in hopes we might be able to order a drink. No-one ever came. Don’t bother trying LUX here, you pay a premium for nothing.
