Best indoor pool I’ve ever swum in. The water temperature is dialed in perfectly, exceptional clarity and freshness. The facility design is ultra modern, with high ceilings and a well engineered ventilation system that keeps air quality crisp and reduces humidity build-up. Only suggestion, make sure slow swimmers are in their designated lane, is dangerous when you have to pass the same person every two or three laps with other fast swimmers coming from the opposite way. Also there is no colture of letting a faster swimmer pass

The Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre is a fantastic facility that caters to swimmers of all ages. With multiple pools available, it’s great for lap swimming, casual dips, or joining one of the many activities they run for both seniors and young children. The lap swimming in particular is excellent—well-organised and enjoyable. The staff are friendly and approachable, and the lifeguards are very attentive. I was especially impressed by one guard who kept patrolling the pool area diligently—it really gave me confidence that safety is taken seriously here. Facilities like the toilets are generally acceptable and kept reasonably clean. At certain times of the day the pool can get a little crowded, but it’s never overwhelming, and overall the atmosphere remains welcoming and comfortable. A well-managed, community-friendly aquatic centre—highly recommended whether you’re training, bringing kids, or just looking to stay active.

Excellent pool! I loved that its all fully wheelchair accessible - everything is on the same level. 👩‍🦼👩‍🦽✅ So you can easily access one of the three pools, sauna and bathrooms. They also have ramps to enter the water and proper stairs to easily get out. Also I loved the temperature of the pool - it's not too cold as some pools and it's not too warm. So you can get a decent work out without overheating but at the same time you won't freeze during the cool down. The only downside, on weekends it's full of kids squads. So there are only 4 lanes available for public swimming. But it's amazingly organized - all lanes are separated and clearly marked. So there will be no water walkers in a fast lane and vice versa. I definitely will come back!!! 🙌

Have been a member here for a couple of months, overall it’s been a pretty good experience. The sauna and steam room are honestly what keep me coming back, they’re super relaxing, especially after a long swim. I really hope they stay well-maintained because they’re definitely the best part of this gym. The 50-meter pool itself feels great to swim in, and the temperature is always comfortable. The water quality isn’t the cleanest I’ve ever seen, sometimes you can spot a bandaid or a bit of debris floating around, but it’s still acceptable overall. However I do want to mention this gigantic cockroach I saw today on the ceiling of the women’s changing room (quite disturbing). I understand it’s getting hot now, which makes it easier for them to appear, but I still think a changing room should be clean and feel safe to use. I really hope the staff can do a proper pest control inspection soon, it would make a big difference. (By the way, recently I saw a mother bring her son, who looked around nine, into the women’s changing room. He was already old enough and kept staring at other women inside, which was really inappropriate. I think it’s better to have a family changing room instead and leave the women's changing room to women.)

I called the Ian Thoroe leisure centre on Tuesday 10th of March @ 3:30pm. This Aquatic Centre charges hiurendous fees & have no customer service 🐕‍🦺.I am sick 🤢 of those council run pools, their fees are a whopping $19 to use their facilities. Just go to Iran park 🏞️, they literally charge $10, which gives you full access ♿ to their awesome facilities such as indoor pool, sauna, spa & steam room. They also have 20 rows of fully decked out showers & free 🆓 digital spacious lockers. I just hope they privatise the Parramatta aquatic Centre.
