Independent Music Academy

Brittany is a brilliant mentor. She listens carefully to what I want to achieve and helps me progress towards my goals with great skill, intuition and kindness. With her guidance and encouragement, I sang at a Jam Night just four months after starting lessons. Now I'm looking forward to performing at the end of year Concert.

A few years ago, I studied bass with Seamus and have recently returned to improve my vocals, again with Seamus. He is one of the best teachers I have ever met, music or otherwise. He has a staggeringly broad knowledge of music and theory, is an enthusiastic fan as well as a gifted musician and has an experts eye and ear for ways toward significant improvement, often with a few simple exercises and adjustments. Students learn the most economic and effective ways to approach music. He's also a super nice guy who makes lessons fun and relaxed. IMA staff are also really pleasant. I would highly recommend Seamus and IMA to anyone wanting expert tuition tailored to the individual needs of students. Can't beat 'em :)

Baxter is a fantastic teacher. Our daughter has learnt so much, and the lessons are very individualised, so she loves it. We look forward to drums every week.

7 years in and I'm still happy, friendly staff and a great place to learn for all levels. Extra notes, I play bass and took lessons from Seamus kirkpatrick, came in as a complete beginner and he's been a helpful mentor throughout all stages of my musical endeavors.

I'm so much more happy and confident with my guitar playing after getting mentoring with IMA. The teachers know all the theoretical concepts and exercises needed to advance your playing.
