Reviews
*Edited (as requested), to focus on my personal experience* We have been coming to Kick n Paddle for over 7 years and the teachers are absolutely amazing. My children have grown into confident, proficient swimmers. They have been taught by Terry, Rhonda, Ben, Lauren, and others on occasion, and I cannot fault any of them. The teachers are attentive, supportive, and guided by each child’s individual abilities. They prioritise safety and make sure each child is progressing at their own pace. I was present during the incident mentioned in a recent one-star review and had a very different interpretation of what occurred. I was genuinely disappointed to see that review, as it doesn’t reflect what I witnessed or the overall culture of this swim school. For those considering Kick n Paddle, please don’t let a single negative review discourage you. Our experience over the years has been consistently positive and supportive. — From an unaffiliated Kick n Paddle parent
I’ve had my son enrolled here for 7 years and highly recommend. Great teachers who care!!
Our Daughter Luna has been coming here since was 6 months old. She is now 2 years old and enjoys the lessons and gained so much confidence with swimming . She looks forward to it every Saturday. The owner Janelle is very welcoming and friendly, while our swim instructor Angus is amazing with children. We will be sending our 6 month old to This centre to learn swimming too. Highly recommend this centre. Love it
The staff at this centre are absolutely fantastic. My son has been attending with his mum for over a year now and always looks forward to it — he truly enjoys his time there. However, this review is more about the condition of the facility itself, particularly the roof. The insulation is deteriorating and frequently falls into the pool, requiring staff to constantly remove debris before each session. While they do their best, it’s concerning to think about how much may go unnoticed, potentially putting the children at risk of ingesting the material. It’s disappointing, as the team working there are outstanding, but the state of the facility has become unsafe. Unfortunately, we’ve made the difficult decision to look for a new centre.
Completely unacceptable experience. My daughter had been coming here for weeks, enjoying her time learning to swim and becoming confident in the water. However a new instructor teaching her class told my daughter that she was not using her arms correctly to swim freestyle. So she picked her up out of the water by her underarms and was thrown backwards into the water and to go back and try again. When my daughter was thrown, she went uncontrollably into the middle of the shallow pool and hit her bum on the bottom. She then returned to the surface instantly red in the face, upset and was crying and scared of what had just happened to her and the feeling of possible drowning. The instructor didn't apologise and told her to continue to her face. I told the teacher that her actions were completely ridiculous and her following behaviour was to continue arguing the point with me in front of other parents and children that I was overreacting to her behaviour that I had just witnessed. I then removed my child from this troubling situation and have put in a complaint. This was not a safe and caring environment for my child on this occasion. Further more she has discomfort to her right hip the following morning from the impact to the bottom of the pool.
