MAKS Ballet Studios

My daughter was suffering from burn-out and walked away from dance after 10+ years. We changed to the Maks Ballet family who were unbelievably caring because they know what burn-out looks like. My daughter found her spark again because of the effort, love, banter and hugs that Kath and Matt put into her. They gave me back my happy, loving child. She loves going to Maks 5 days per week. They see her talent and know exactly where she is up to without pressure and put-downs. They challenge her but also know her limits. She has learnt so very much. We can't recommend Maks Ballet under Kath and Matt enough.

MAKS is a welcoming and highly developmental ballet school for adult learners. Matt is an exceptionally talented and patient teacher who generously shares his vast experience and technique with his students. The atmosphere is friendly and supportive and caters for mixed ability. If you hung up your ballet shoes years ago, but the barre is calling you years later, then come and join the adult classes at MAKS and relive the joy of ballet no matter how old you are!!!

I have attended MAKS for a couple of years now as an adult ballet student. The atmosphere is welcoming and supportive, making it great for newcomers to ballet, those returning after dancing in the past and experienced dancers. The teachers are exceptionally knowledgeable, with a strong focus on technique. Matt and Kath, the Directors, were professional dancers themselves, and they bring a deep understanding of ballet, artistry and safety to every class. Since our daughter started at MAKS Ballet Studios, her dancing has developed beyond measure. The studio Directors, Matt and Kath, together with all the wonderful teachers at MAKS, work tirelessly to nurture every Makadamian dancer’s love of ballet. They have instilled in our daughter the value of artistry, discipline, and technique. I am so grateful to have found adult ballet classes at MAKS in Mitchell, ACT. It's a friendly, welcoming and fun environment and I've learned so much from the wonderful teachers who are very supportive and encouraging. As a form of exercise, I think it's the best for developing strength, fitness, balance, agility and wellbeing - so important to me as I get older. I'm addicted! 🥰
