Michael Avery School of Music

The JCSoM is a fantastic place to learn how to play music. It has a strong emphasis on community, which is exactly what I want from a music school. The teachers are outstanding and the staff are warm and friendly. The facilities are top notch. The passion for music not only from Josh Cohen himself but the teachers and staff can be felt in the entire place, which makes learning how to play music even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend this place.

The JCSoM is an engaging music school that has a very friendly and welcoming environment. As a beginner in piano, I found the inclusive nature of the school comforting and have always been encouraged to take part in the free additional workshops that are offered. I always look forward to my piano lessons with Laura and appreciate her patience, encouragement and ability to adapt her teaching to my learning style. The quality of the service in its entirety cannot be faulted and I would not hesitate to recommend the JCSoM on any given occasion.

My daughter attends for piano and voice lessons. She always finds the lessons fun and I am very happy with her progress. The teachers have all been excellent. I get feedback every week and get to see her perform either if her teacher asks me to pop in to see how well she is doing, or at the twice a year school recitals. The free kids jams and other workshops are a quality added bonus and my daughter is always keen to attend these. The admin staff are also excellent - extremely organised. The waiting room is comfortable and an up to date selection of magazines and a selection of books and games for siblings makes the wait no problem. I am very happy to spend money on these lessons.

The Michael Avery School of Music is great! The people - teachers and administration staff - are all so skilled and so friendly at the same time. I cannot recommend MASoM highly enough! Whether you are a beginner or advanced, a child or an adult, this will be a great music school for you. We have really enjoyed the 4+ years we've been at the school.

Josh Cohen School of Music is an inspiring place where students learn from talented and very dedicated musicians. The teachers are not only highly skilled in teaching the craft of playing, but more importantly encourage students to find their own voice through music and develop the confidence to perform in front of others. Both my kids attend the school studying different instruments and their progress has been amazing - both in their technique and their appreciation of music and performance. The school is also a vibrant community that encourages a sense of belonging and where both students and teachers participate together in jam sessions and bi-annual concerts. A highly recommended place for anyone interested in high quality music education.
