Great facilities. BMI machine plus Sauna, steam room and cold plunge are great even though they're small. Wish they had at least one basketball hoop though, with so many tennis and squash courts that are mostly vacant, a basket all hoop would be perfect. And, the cafe has got really nice food. NG Superbowl was really tasty.
I was an original member of Next Gen Canberra and, after a 6-year break, recently rejoined. From the moment I came back, I was made to feel genuinely welcome again—like returning to a family. The facilities are excellent, the atmosphere is great, and you’re always greeted with a smile at reception. The staff are incredibly helpful—special thanks to Sandy, Sophia and Mitch for their support. The café is also fantastic, with friendly staff who are always polite and welcoming. I highly recommend Next Gen to anyone looking for a lifestyle gym with a warm, community feel. Well done to the whole team! 👏😎
I have only been going to NextGen Canberra for a month, The facilities are as good as they get and the staff are very friendly; I particularly love the Aqua classes. The instructors are fantastic and demonstrate very clearly how to do the exercise's. There are all ages, genders, shapes and sizes but the culture is extremely supportive and I don't feel like a minority. Note the cafe is soooooo slow!!!!
I love the frequency and variety of the exercise sessions. Yoga, Pilates, aqua aerobics, strength, core, etc. the instructors are engaged and mix it up. The fitness assessment and gym program is good too. Range of gym equipment is pretty good. The pool facility is terrific if you want to incorporate swimming into your exercise routine
I've been with Next Gen for over 3 years now. There is a very varied range of classes to suit all age groups. The instructors design interesting classes, vary class content each time so you don't get bored, explain what part of your body you're working on, and highlight alternative movements to suit all capabilities. There is a large, bright lounge area where coffee, snacks and meals are served. It's a friendly gym, including patrons, instructors and other staff such as Kimo and Emma on the front desk. There is plenty of parking including over the road at the hockey centre during busy times such as summer tennis tournaments. I've attended several other gyms in Canberra and have found this one suits me by far the best.
