Odyssey Jiu Jitsu Academy

My daughter and have been training at this club for last 2 years and cannot recommend it highly enough. If you have ever thought about training BJJ and you are looking for a family friendly, welcoming club for both adults and kids this is the place to go. My daughter started at 3 years old and I started at 35 it’s a place for everyone.

First time trying BJJ after years of considering it, but always put it off for one reason or another. I have to say, I definitely picked the right place for my first session. Justin and everyone at Odyssey were very friendly and welcoming, as well as clearly experienced with teaching the sport. Really enjoyed the session and will definitely come back!

After moving south of the river and searching for a new BJJ club for my kids, I trialled over five different academies. Having come from a great club previously, I was very particular about what I was looking for. As soon as my kids trialled at Odyssey Jiu Jitsu Academy, it was clear there was no comparison — it ticked every box. The coaches are outstanding, teaching not just technique, but also respect, discipline, and the core foundations of BJJ. Both my kids have been training and competing with OJA since the beginning of 2024, and the growth we’ve seen in their confidence, skill, and mindset has been incredible. I recommend OJA to every family I know — you won’t be disappointed. On top of the high-level coaching, there’s also a warm and supportive community of families that makes the experience even better. Walking into a Jiu Jitsu academy for the first time can be a daunting experience, but Justin along with the other coaches and training partners made me feel welcome and helped me navigate the complex world of Jiu Jitsu. Justin and the coaching staff have always taken the time to answer my questions and talk me through techniques or concepts I have struggled to grasp. If you are looking to trial a new academy or even try Jiu Jitsu for the first time, I'd highly recommend Odyssey. The coaches, facilities and environment are fantastic and you will be well looked after by a supportive team.

Fantastic Gym! My children have been going for just over a year now. I have been very impressed with classes. Justin is highly skilled Bjj Practitioner and together with the other very skilled coaches my children have learnt a great deal as well as having fun. The adults classes are next level. After our kids started my husband and I also joined. We spend alot of time each week at Odyssey and it has really positive addition to our lives. I highly recommend anyone wanting to try Bjj to deffinatly pop in and see what its like.
