Parap Swimming Pool

What a fantastic pool, actually two pools. 25m and 50m pools. Part of the area is grassed and has lovely big trees, so if you'd like to have rest in the hot weather it's nice to find shade under a tree. The facilities are new, clean and of interesting design. The kiosk offers snacks and a good coffee.

It has had a pretty impressive upgrade since the last time I was here (2011) Staff at the pool are very professional and friendly. Toilets and change rooms are very different and pretty cool. Hoping to visit again next time im in Darwin

Opens at 5:30am which is great for those not yet retired. Water temperature is controlled - heated in winter and cooler in summer. Friendly staff.

From my overall experience I rate the Parap swimming pool based on initial customer service on entry, facilities and availability of equipment, change areas and overall ground presentation and cleanliness I had to wait 5 minutes at reception for a customer service person to pay my entry fee, price varies and there are senior discounts 50 metre outdoor pool has varied lane availability for lap swimmers. Depth is approximately 1.4metres in shallow entrance and has walk down ramp for those with physical incapacity. The 25 metre outdoor pool also has ramp access. Water temperature during my visit in March 2025 was ok, like swimming with the light rain falling. Part of the 50 metre outdoor pool is under cover. Grounds and grass areas looked unkept and could do with a maintenance. Change room and showers rate 3 for cleanliness. There are seats and tables for non swimmers. A kiosk has snack options, very basic. No equipment was available for use and/or hire (kickboard and noodles). When I inquired with lifeguard the response was gruff and off putting.
