Exceptional community spirited leisure centre: Swimming pool is very clean and well supervised. Swim teachers are very good for both anxious newby adults and for kids. The gym is easily the best I have been to. Well equipped, including pilates/movement equipment. What’s exceptional are some of the trainers (Thomas, Andrew, Sharon- hope I got her name right- Saturday mornings, older lady). The environment is very welcoming for people of all abilities. Sometimes the pool is super busy and depending which lifeguard is on duty, they forget to ensure there is one lane for slow-medium-fast. That said there are some lovely lifeguards. I did experience a man behaving inappropriately and reported it to staff. They didn’t quite know how to behave. So, a message to leadership to retrain staff to deal with these scenarios.

Love this place it's just a shame about the creepy old men in the suana spa area that stare relentlessly at women. I even saw one corner a woman in steam room and demand to know if she was single. He stood Infront of her and put his foot on the band where she was sitting cornering shoving his junk in her face. Lord he had to be 20 years older than her. The younger crowd are respectful and the facilities are great it's just a shame about the old men.

Richmond Recreation Centre is a fantastic community facility, and the pool is easily one of the best features. It’s the kind of place that works for everyone — whether you’re swimming laps, bringing the kids for a splash, or just wanting a casual swim to unwind. The main pool is spacious, clean, and well maintained. The water temperature is always just right, and there are plenty of lanes available for swimmers of all levels. I really appreciate how the lanes are clearly marked for different speeds, which makes lap swimming smooth and enjoyable without the stress of overcrowding. There’s also a great program pool that’s perfect for lessons or gentle exercise, plus a kids’ pool and spa/sauna facilities that make it a full experience rather than just a swim. It’s a genuine all-rounder. The lifeguards and staff are excellent — professional, attentive, and friendly. You always feel safe knowing the pool deck is properly supervised. The staff at reception are equally welcoming and efficient, making the whole experience easy from the moment you walk in. The centre itself is well equipped, with modern change rooms, lockers, and showers that are clean and functional. It’s clearly looked after with care, which makes a big difference for regular swimmers. What I love most is that Richmond Rec Centre really feels like a hub for the community. There are people of all ages and abilities using the facilities, and the atmosphere is always positive and inclusive. Whether you’re training seriously or just dipping in for some light exercise, it’s a place where everyone fits in. Richmond Recreation Centre pool is an asset to the area — reliable, welcoming, and consistently excellent. Highly recommended for anyone in Richmond looking for a great swim spot.

Hey guys, just wondering if there’s any maintenance planned for the sauna and spa area? The shower on the sauna side hasn’t been working properly for months, and the steam room seems faulty too. It randomly stops working, drops off, then comes back on for no clear reason. Could you please get someone to have a look and fix it? I really like the place. I’m not a member, but I come here pretty often, and it’d be great if everything was working properly.

Nice pool! For 8 AUD you get in and can swim as much as you want. There are lanes for slow swimmer, medium and fast. The changing room are clean. All equipment works fine. It would be nice if they could provide towels and swim caps in case guests forget. They are also replying mail if you ask for information. Easy to reach with public transportation. Will go back when in Melbourne.
