Rio Dance Studio

We decided to have a free trial lesson at Rio Dance Studio as they offered the most affordable package we could find. We had John as our dance teacher and he did a fantastic job. We decided to sign up for a package of five wedding dance lessons, and we’re so glad we did. I had already watched plenty of YouTube videos and picked out moves I liked, and tried to make the choreography myself. But John helped turn this into an amazing dance. He made the transitions between moves smooth, refined our technique, and suggested alternatives that fit the dance and flowed much better overall. We ended up using three lessons for our wedding dance, as we practised a lot at home. John encouraged us to record the steps he taught us, which made practising independently very manageable. As a result, we got to use the remaining lessons from our package for my father–daughter dance, which was also a great experience. While we made a few small mistakes on the wedding day due to nerves and my long dress, we were still extremely happy with how the dance turned out, especially as non-dancers! We received so many compliments from our guests who really enjoyed the dance. Thank you, John - you’ve been incredibly helpful. We genuinely had a lot of fun and would love to come back for casual lessons in the future when we have some spare time. Highly recommend!

The classes are super beginner-friendly and there’s no pressure at all — which makes it perfect if you’ve ever been nervous about trying a dance class. What really makes Rio special is the community. Everyone is so supportive, and you genuinely feel comfortable from your very first class. No partner needed, no experience needed — just a great vibe and something to look forward to each week ✨
