The competition 50m pool very incredibly fast. Cool water salted chlorine water helps with buoyancy in competitive swimming, as well as the three meter deep pools. The pools and facilities were also nice, clean bathrooms and showers but it would be nicer if the showers could have temperature change. Additionally, SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre uses the best of the best technologies: precise Swiss Timing touchpads, OSB-11 diving blocks and STARTTIME-V starters. This place has inspired me and changed my perspective on local state facilities within Adelaide. Even my eleven-year-old son loves swimming in the kiddie pools, he’s trying to become a competitive swimming one day, and SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre is definitely helping. Thanks for this greater place, Jason
My baby and I usually come here for Aqua sensory play since Aug 2024. My baby really enjoys being here as there are lots of toys. The instructors are great, very nice and friendly, especially Jen.
Great gym with a seriously good range of equipment. Plenty of machines, free weights, cardio gear, cable stations, assisted chin-up machines, leg press, the lot. If you actually want to get fit and it’s in your budget, this is a very solid spot. The atmosphere is chill too. Not too intimidating, not full of heroes throwing weights around, and you can actually focus on training. Chuck on a Huberman podcast, watch a few shorts or TikToks for form, or use AI to build yourself a plan and save some cashola on a trainer. Only downside is the casual price. It’s $20+ for a gym session, then roughly another $10 if you want sauna/steam, so it adds up fast. Also, the building seems to exist in a permanent state of “council construction.” Typical council. If this place was in Asia, the whole thing would probably be rebuilt, tiled, painted, blessed, and reopened by next Thursday. Still, for the equipment, range, and vibe, it’s a very good gym.
The pool is quite warm i wasn't used to that. I also didn't like how the small pool we were swimming in was just taken over and lanes put up without notice making us feel like we had to go home at 330pm on the hottest day of the year. The grass area out the back was poorly looked after and overgrown. The chemical smell was almost overwhelming, it made my eyes water. Im not planning to go back to Adelaide but I'd definitely find somewhere else to swim next time.
We came from the other side of the city as something different and exciting to do for the school holidays. Ages 15, 12 and 12. We prepaid online for the Wibit inflatable course 11am-midday. At 10am, there were no pools available. They were being utilised by adult aerobic classes, Lap swimming, children's swim classes etc. Our kids were told to hang out in the toddler sensory pool until 11am. At 11am they had fun on the inflatables. At midday the water slides opened. They were told they needed to pay extra. There was no mention of paying extra for any of the facilities. Our tickets said they included "leisure". There was no description of what "leisure" meant. At the counter we were advised $3 per slide or $12 unlimited each. This would be an additional $36 which we didn't budget for. There is no mention of the cost of the slides on the prices list at the front door. As I was about to pay, we were also advised that the kids would need to do a swim test. There is no signage regarding a swim test, or how/where to do said test. The kids were full of disappointment and said don't worry about it. The line up for the swim test was long. Perhaps we could have been advised of this swim test when we arrived and completed it during the hour of boredom. As we were walking to the change rooms we heard the diving boards were open. Turns out these required a swim test too. So we lined up, did the test, and had a couple of turns on the 1m and 3m diving boards. Overall would not recommend coming here with teenagers. There are a lot of recreational pools in SA that cost less and have more to entertain.
