10 STARS. We saw Shake n Stir’s Macbeth at the Playhouse (Bris) last night. Just indescribably fabulous. A superb contemporary approach, deftly presented by 8 gifted artists (and no doubt a huge crew off stage). I’ve seen many performances of this play including Bell Shakespeare Co, and this was by far the best. So many highlights. Edge of your seat energy. Just go! It’s incredible.

Went to see the disturbingly relatable "1984 George Orwell" production last weekend and it was sensational.. Looking forward to seeing "A Christmas Carol" in December. Thank you for your wonderful work!

Shake & Stir is one of the best theatre companies to ever exist. Their mainstage shows are so professional and impressive, and the in-school touring shows are of such a high quality too. Their educational opportunities are amazing, and I have loved being part of the Greenroom Ensemble, as well as taking part in holiday workshops. It is such a lovely environment to be part of and everyone who works for them are such genuine and kind people. Everyone has to go see their shows!! You will be amazed won't regret it.

I'm afraid this review will only be for the first 10 minutes of their "Adaption" of Roald Dahl's Twits, which is all we could manage to endure. My friend and I walked out of the show along with our 5, 6 and 8 year old children after a mere 10 minutes when it became overwhelmingly clear that we had mistaken this burlesque circus performance, which reminded me more of Mardi Gras and a strip club show, with toilet humour that is neither intelligent or funny, disguised as educational entertainment for children. I was ashamed that a table was sat up selling the beloved author Roald Dahl's classics outside the hall of the opera house when this show reflects nothing of Roald Dahl's spirit. Please don't pollute the minds of the next generation with this garbage and call it arts, or worse, educational. I would like our money back but 300 dollars wasted is nothing compared to the brain rot that will take place if we had sat there and watched more of the show.
