Even though we didn't go for a swim today, visiting the historic Spring Hill Baths—established in 1886—was a fantastic experience! Incredible Historical Atmosphere: The moment you walk in, you're transported back to the 19th century. The classic wooden changing cubicles, vintage "Ladies Only" signage, and the unique roof structure that lets in natural light create a truly nostalgic vibe. Charming & Spotless: While the pool is on the smaller side, it is clearly maintained with great pride. The water is crystal clear, and the entire facility is exceptionally clean and comfortable. Great for Visitors: I love that they offer a "Spectator fee" for those who just want to admire the stunning architecture without getting in the water. This place is packed with charm and character. A must-see cultural landmark for anyone exploring Brisbane!
Such a beautiful pool to swim in. Perfect temperature, great change rooms lining the pool. Nice and deep one end. Lovely how the sun shines through the roof.
Reward yourself by stepping back in time, visiting this cosy wonderland of a living museum. Trully a Brisbane treasure and must do!
Such a historic bath with a 25-metre pool, suitable for beginners through to advanced swimmers. The young lady on staff is friendly, and the water temperature is perfect — not too cold. The change rooms line the pool, which is very convenient. It’s lovely how the sun shines through the roof. The old pool is well maintained, as are the hot showers, and they even provide free equipment. Swimmers range from young people to those in their 80s, with many over 50 — everyone is well behaved and respectful. The area outside is a bit quiet and feels slightly rough, but inside the baths the atmosphere is calm and pleasant.
Its a nice old place that really is a piece of history and makes for a memorable swim. However that also means that its old and less than optimal if you are a serious swimmer. Dont expect a modern swimming facility, thats not what it is.
