Square Academy

My sons (10 and 12) really enjoy Square Academy. Dr Tim is a fantastic teacher who leads children to participate in conversations about science, politics and culture, without talking down or dumbing down. He encourages children to suggest the topics for research and discussion. It’s far more engaging and enjoyable than worksheet based tutoring programs, as he is encouraging the children to think for themselves and engage with the world around them on a deeper level. My kids love it!

It's only been one term with Tim, learning English, and I have really enjoyed it. He delivers a unique style of education by implementing real world experiences into our lessons. He is also very intricate, when it comes to editing my writing. Overall, a great experience in learning with Tim!

Tim is an excellent teacher in so many different things! I am astounded by his breadth of knowledge and hope to be like him one day. He has not only taught me school stuff but also how to think critically on global issues and whatnot because the things that we know often oversimplify or leave out important details. 100% recommendations, worth every single cent.

Thank you so much, Tim, for everything!! You made English so much more manageable—far easier than I ever imagined it could be. You’ve been my backbone, giving me endless support, courage, and confidence to explore the ideas I had. And even when I failed, you always helped me move forward with lots of warm comforts and energy. I just want to say that you are definitely the best tutor I have ever had (and you know I’ve had a lot, haha). I genuinely enjoy every conversation with you—small, big, scientific, philosophical… You always bring fresh thoughts and perspectives that I would never have discovered on my own, opening up an entirely new world in front of me and guiding me through moments when I’m feeling adrift. My final year wouldn’t have been the same without you. Your patience, your humour, and your belief in me have shaped not only my writing, but also the way I see myself as a learner and as a person. Thank you for walking beside me through the ups and downs of Year 12, for celebrating every little win, and for helping me grow into someone braver, more confident, and more willing to take risks. I’m truly grateful for every lesson, every conversation, and every moment of encouragement you’ve given me.

My daughter enjoyed the heart dissection session held during the school holidays (grade 6-9, she is grade 9). This topic was covered in school during her yr 8 science class but she found the explanations and physical participation in this program to be more detailed and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you.
