I visited State Swim in Canning Vale on 14 December 2025, and I had an excellent experience. The instructors were very patient, which made the lessons both enjoyable and effective. Their understanding approach created a relaxed and supportive environment, perfect for learners of all levels. I honestly have no criticisms to share, as everything ran smoothly and met my expectations. Overall, I would give State Swim in Canning Vale a solid 5-star rating for their outstanding service and dedication.
Unfortunately it has been very disappointing since the teacher changed in the glides class. Bare minimum attention on each child and very slow to encourage kids to build competency. The new app is terrible for using make-up vouchers as it only let's you view one week ahead (the old website allowed you to select any available during the year). Facilities for changing etc not great either. Gets 2 stars in recognition of the previous Glides teacher who was wonderful.
They used to be very good but I’m not sure if there’s a change in management. We have been with them for many years. Recently they don’t respond to emails and service is really disappointing. Will be pulling my kids out and leaving.
We've been learning to swim here for several years now. Recently, a truly appalling bullying incident occurred. After my child's new swimsuit was stolen three times in a row from the changing rooms, we reported the bullying to the staff. They asked us to recount the events and assured us they would investigate the matter thoroughly. Each time I followed up, they simply said they were awaiting the manager's response. After a month of anxious waiting, a woman named Lisa finally informed us they would increase patrols going forward. They made no mention of what they had investigated. Nothing at all. Not only have we suffered financial loss, but we've endured considerable emotional distress. With no help forthcoming regarding the bullying, continuing lessons here means worrying that the same thing will happen again. For those considering lessons here, keep a close eye on your children, especially in the changing rooms. There are no CCTV cameras, and should anything occur, they won't intervene.
0/10. I don’t recommend StateSwim Canning Vale. After a year of lessons, my four year old son was given a timeout for not making eye contact with the instructor. He was left crying and alone on the side of the pool… despite not being able to swim. When I spoke to the regional manager, Alicia, she admitted it was unsafe. She went on to say, “well, they’re teenagers. (the staff)” She admitted that it was “risky” to put him in timeout alone, was rude on the phone and offered no support, even though his learning disability is clearly noted on file. My son was heartbroken. He has no idea what he had done wrong and cried the entire way home repeating “I was listening Mumma”. That was enough for us. We withdrew him immediately. Update: We moved to Jump Swim Schools and have had an incredible experience for the past two years. The teachers are kind, the facilities are excellent, and both of my children genuinely love going to their lessons. My son has made SO much progress. Highly recommend. We are still awaiting an apology from StateSwim 🙃
