STC is a community where students can strive, learn and improve. Personally, I have attended this tutorial centre ever since I was in year 2, and I am currently in year 6, about to experience the Selective Test (ominous music plays). I have made a lot of friends and have had fun here. First of all, STC doesn't just teach useless things that are only provided in the NSW curriculum, it actually helps you improve with detailed explanations on questions you don't understand, and teaches methods that are efficient. It also assists with time management, providing sessions including main class, trial test, and much more. These sessions usually have some sort of test inside them, and you have to complete everything in the provided time limit. This helps drastically with students who struggle with time management. STC also assists students in important tests such as Selective and OC, because of the trial test program. Trial test allows students to demonstrate their capabilities in a mock-exam that is similar to either OC, or selective, depending on which one you are attending. They give you feedback on your writing, explain questions students do not understand, and overall give tips on time management and efficiency. Last but not least, STC is fun, and I swear I am not lying. Throughout my years at STC, I have made countless friends in both main class and trial test. If it wasn't for STC, I would not have as any friends and peers I can work with. In break times, you can chat with others and do fun things together. STC also has a currency system called 'tokens'. These are mainly given out for answering questions or doing good in tests. Tokens are motivation for students (in my opinion) and can be used to exchanged for items and other stationary in the shop. These items can include books, pencils, and other useful things. Overall STC is a welcoming environment that can increase knowledge and assist with crucial skills such as time management. STC has taught me was more than I could've imagined and I strongly believe all students should attend. Shout out to Mr Peter, Mr Jonathan, and Mr Bisesh as they were amazing teachers. oh yea walls are very artistic (if you know, you know) P.S - the people who make bad reviews are just mad cuz they have skill issue 🥀🥀😔
As a student myself at STC, I believe the tutoring helps greatly. I’ve been at STC for about 3 years and in that time I’ve met some really loyal friends, some good teachers and some bad. I highly recommend you to enroll your child there! You will expect good results. The students there are quite competitive, so don’t worry if your child doesn’t usually get a good score. They will improve along the way! :D
This is from student a perspective this tutoring centre is a good place for students that are able to focus easily no much for those who can’t sit through 4 hrs of learning. Teachers there were not to bad some were questionable. I never really learnt/ understood anything and kind of a waste of money.
I am very disappointed with the tutoring experience the centre provided. My child submitted a homework writing task in Week 2, but it was not marked until Week 8. This lack of timely feedback significantly affected motivation, as students rely on teacher input to improve and feel that their work is valued. This issue was not isolated to my child, as the entire class experienced the same delay in receiving feedback. Communication was also very poor. Despite multiple phone calls and two emails for updates on my child's progress at the tutoring centre, there was no clear or timely response from the centre. What is most upsetting is that I had paid the early bird fee for Term 2, but when I requested a refund due to the issues outlined above, only 80% was returned, which is concerning given the service was not delivered and no clear policy was communicated regarding a 20% deduction prior to the start of the term. Additionally, even the 80% refund was significantly delayed. I contacted the centre more than four weeks before Term 2 began to request a refund, yet it was not received until Week 2 of Term 2 (over six weeks later). From 17 March onwards, each call resulted in a different staff member taking my details and assuring me they would follow up, but despite multiple calls and emails, no action was taken and the refund was only finalised on 30 April. Overall, the combination of delayed marking, lack of communication with parents on student progress, and refund issues has been very disappointing. I hope the centre improves its responsiveness, transparency, and commitment to providing the service parents are paying for.
I would not give them a single star. My daughter spent a year with them, investing money to enhance her knowledge, but unfortunately, their teaching standards were very poor. They excel at generating revenue from parents, though. I strongly advise against recommending their services to anyone seeking education for their children’s. Please stay away from this tutorial centre.
