Subiaco Tae Kwon Do Martial Arts

I have been training at First Taekwondo Subiaco for almost a year, and it's been an incredible experience! The instructors are knowledgeable, patient, and truly passionate about teaching the art of Taekwondo. The classes are engaging, challenging, and tailored to meet the needs of students of all ages and skill levels. The school's emphasis on discipline, respect, and self-improvement has been invaluable for me and my child's personal growth.

This martial arts class has many family members training together. You'll see fathers and daughters, mothers and sons, mothers and daughters, and even a dynamo pair of grandmother and grandson!! They all train seriously, as well as have fun bonding moments to share. Kudos to the Instructor and assistant instructors for catering to a wide age range, and students with learning challenges. This martial arts class also has good seating for parents and grandparents, and siblings to stay and watch. Highly recommended.

Instructor Hockridge always goes that extra mile :) Her dedication to her craft (Taekwondo), dedication to teaching and dedication to her students is commendable. At FTKD Subiaco we have a great venue, beautiful mix of kids, adults & seniors and a great community feeling. But the beauty of the class lies in how Instructor Hockridge works with each of us. She has an excellent teaching format with a variety of warm ups, great techniques and every time there is something exciting to look forward to. She pushes us as per our abilities, empowers us and celebrates our learnings. At 60, with no previous experience in Martial Arts, there are times when I need to be supported one on one as I take time to get certain moves. Instructor Hockridge & Miss Hockridge always patiently support and encourage me. Discipline (traditional values, etiquettes, respect) is of prime importance at our centre but in this 6 month journey so far, I’ve never seen her get annoyed or raise her voice. She thorough prepares each of us for the grading, has a checklist and wants us to perfect every detail as much as we can. She understands each of her student very well- the mark of a great teacher. I would have not come this far without Instructor Hockridge & Miss Hockridge boosting my confidence. FTKD Subiaco is my happy place.
