Yarra Heights Dance Academy

Coming from a dance background myself, I know how intense the dance world can be, but Yarra Heights Dance Academy is something special. Our daughter is now in her second year and absolutely loves it. She’s improved so much and the confidence she’s gained is incredible! She was once very shy but now dreams of being a dance teacher. She does Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Hip Hop, and is already planning what styles to try next year. The teachers and everyone at YHDA are all so friendly and supportive, it really is such a positive, fun environment. We’re so happy we found YHDA and couldn’t recommend it more!

My daughter has been a student at Yarra Heights for 7 years, and she absolutely loves it. We are very happy with the variety of dance styles offered. All of the teachers are brilliant. There are plenty of opportunities for performing, competing and exams if you are so inclined, but these aren’t compulsory. There is no pressure placed on the students, only kind encouragement. You can do as much or as little as you like. The end of year concert is a real highlight. I highly recommend YHDA.

My toddler absolutely adores attending her dance classes at Yarra Heights Dance Academy. The classes are well structured and keep the little ones engaged the entire time. The staff are professional and friendly, and admin are prompt and easy to communicate with. Highly recommend if you are looking for toddler dance classes in the Kilsyth area.

Yarra Heights Dance Academy is the most brilliant community of dancers - welcoming, friendly, accessible, flexible and fun!!! They have a highly accomplished team of facilitators; my daughter has been taught ballet by Samantha and Maggie, who are fantastic! Louise, the Director/Principal, is a wonderful person who has been a genuine mentor to our daughter Soraya. Every single time, she's willing to go the extra mile to bring to children what they wish to achieve. "A dancer is as good as her teacher is"; just certifications don't make dancers, is what we've learnt at this Academy. At YH, dancers learn within a conducive environment of joy and freedom (with self discipline) and so open up their expression and learn 'skill' from the best teachers. We're forever grateful for all the fun, learning and friends! Way to go, Yarra Heights!

5 stars for instructors 1 star for communication, payments and the ability for make up classes. Overall kids are happy and dance instructors are good and energetic for the kids. The admin staff have a poor way of communicating though which drives me insane. Emails come across very rude and demanding. There's no opportunity for make up classes or refunds for sick or injured missed lessons. They believe email is the only form of communication applicable and refuse to pick up the phone. I'd look elsewhere if not for the happy kids.
